Senator Marilou McPhedran

The Vote16 Act would extend the voting age to 16 in Canada!

After FOURTEEN tries by Canadian politicians, Senator Marilou McPhedran’s 2021 bill (S-209) was the first #Vote16 bill to PASS second reading! But when the autumn election was called, all Senate bills died.

Now it’s been re-introduced as bill S-201, the Vote16 Act!

In a few weeks, the Senate of Canada will be voting on whether to send it to committee. Bringing this bill to committee would present Canada with its first occassion for dedicated, exclusive study on extending the voting age to 16.
